Prof. Javier Pioz and Prof. María Rosa Cervera are the first Spanish architects to work with the modern science of BIONICS, which emerged in the mid-60s as a bio-technological analysis of nature and its application to Technical and Graphic Design.
Cervera & Pioz's research team has analyzed the growing mechanisms and the laws of flexibility and adaptability in plants and other natural species, and has developed a new theory and practice for an innovative connection between Nature and Architecture: ARCHITECTURE & BIONICS, a union of the common principles of Architecture, Engineering and Biology.
